Mohamed Sissoko has been ruled out of Juventus's Group A game against FC Bayern München after suffering a left thigh injury in the final training session before the critical UEFA Champions League tie.

Untimely injury
Juve are second in the section, one point ahead of Bayern, and must avoid defeat to advance to the knockout phase. Yesterday the Bianconeri received the news that centre-back Giorgio Chiellini would be out of action for three weeks with a thigh problem, and today Sissoko gave coach Ciro Ferrara another headache by suffering a similar setback. The 24-year-old Malian international has struggled with a series of injuries this season, making just six Serie A appearances and two more in the UEFA Champions League. Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen is expected to take his place against Bayern.
