ACF Fiorentina have signed Brazilian centre-back Felipe on loan from Udinese Calcio with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.

Injuries
The 25-year-old graduated from Udinese's youth system to make his Serie A debut on 6 April 2003 and soon established himself as one of the most promising defenders in Italy before injuries halted his progress. Felipe has not featured since appearing in Udinese's opening three league matches of the season – taking his tally to 139 over eight campaigns – and is hoping to relaunch his career in Florence. The Viola will meet FC Bayern München in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round.
