First UEFA Champions League goals for Djibril Sidibé and Gianni Bruno enabled LOSC Lille to avenge a matchday one home defeat as FC BATE Borisov lost their way in the fog in Group F.
Facing an inexperienced side, BATE were seeking a third win of the campaign that would have put the pressure on section leaders FC Bayern München and Valencia CF ahead of matchday six. As it was they received a dose of their own medicine, dominating possession but conceding twice on the break, and there was no way back despite Sidibé's dismissal on 74 minutes.
They didn't attack much but scored two and we didn't take our chances. This is not the type of display you should give in the Champions League.

Viktor Goncharenko, BATE coach
It's a shame we did not score the three goals that we needed to keep our Europa League hopes alive, but how can I not be proud of my youngsters tonight?

Rudi Garcia, LOSC coach

Vladimir Bogachov, Dinamo Stadion: LOSC ended their point-less run, but could not find a third goal to stay in contention for a UEFA Europa League spot. The visitors also ended with ten men after Djibril Sidibé's second yellow, and though BATE could not exploit it, they definitely have European football in the spring.
