Burak Yılmaz delivered the goods in the UEFA Champions League yet again for Galatasaray AŞ, heading in the only goal of the game versus Manchester United FC as Fatih Terim's team consolidated second place in Group H.

The Turkey striker – who has now scored all five of Cimbom's European goals this term, including a hat-trick against CFR 1907 Cluj last time out – powered in Selçuk İnan's corner eight minutes into the second half. Galatasaray's first continental home win in almost three years means they need only match CFR's result on matchday six to qualify for the last 16.

Match in 5

  • Galatasaray remain second in Group H thanks to Burak header
  • United's Powell hits crossbar in first-half on European debut
  • Burak scores fifth goal in as many Group H games
  • Hamit hits crossbar late on from distance
  • Hosts progress if they match or better CFR result on matchday six

Reaction

My team played with a fighting spirit. I congratulate them from my heart because if they hadn't played like that then it wouldn't be possible to beat Manchester United.

The temperament was good and I thought we put up a reasonable show but when you concede from a set-piece you are always under pressure.

    The final whistle is blown.
Burak Yilmaz’s second-half header was enough to give Galatasaray the most valuable of UEFA Champions League wins which keeps their hopes of qualification in their own hands. But a young Man. United team acquitted themselves very well.
