FC Bayern München have one foot in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after a 3-1 win at Arsenal FC in the first leg of their last-16 tie.
Bayern looked certain to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to 19 games when Toni Kroos and Thomas Müller rubber-stamped the visitors' superiority with goals in the opening 21 minutes.
Bayern are a very efficient team, they make the most of the chances they create. It will be very difficult but we will try to make the impossible possible.

Arsène Wenger, Arsenal manager
Beating an English team 3-1 is a big result. We had a great start to the game and put in an excellent display. You could see that Arsenal are a good side and we had to roll up our sleeves and work hard to get the win.

Jupp Heynckes, Bayern coach
