SSC Napoli delivered an excellent display in southern France to move joint top of Group F, José Callejón and Duván Zapata scoring in a 2-1 victory that shunted Olympique de Marseille ever closer to elimination.

Playing with speed and purpose, Rafael Benítez's men took a deserved lead via Callejón before the interval and made light of a spirited response when substitute Zapata curled in on 67 minutes. André Ayew registered late for the hosts, but Napoli held on to go level with Arsenal FC and Borussia Dortmund, with OM yet to pick up a point.

Reaction

We could have done better tonight, we lacked focus in some moments. Now two of our last three games are away from home. It will be very difficult.

My staff made a perfect analysis of Marseille and the team played a perfect game tactically. Now we have two home games, let us wait and see.

Minute By Minute

  • End Time
    The final whistle is blown.
Marseille's hopes hang by a thread. No points from three games means they are not mathematically out, but goals from José Callejón and Duván Zapata mean hopes of progressing are as slim as it gets. A late rally gave some hope, but it is Rafael Benítez's men who leave happy after impressing throughout.

    A. Ayew (Marseille) scores!
Do OM have a chance here? Jordan Ayew's cushioned pass is caught sweetly by his brother 25 metres out and the ball loops past Pepe Reina and into the right corner.
