Lionel Messi scored his fourth goal in two UEFA Champions League games this season as FC Barcelona came from behind to draw 1-1 at AC Milan and stay top of Group H.

Milan took Barcelona by surprise during a brilliant start and went ahead through Robinho after a nice combination with Kaká. The visitors responded quickly with Messi's equaliser and began to control proceedings, creating a good number of chances. Milan, though, defended well and had their own share of opportunities as they remained unbeaten and second behind the Catalan side in the section.

Match in 5

  • Robinho opens the scoring for Milan in ninth minute
  • Messi equalises with his 63rd goal in competition
  • Blaugrana dominate possession but have to settle for point
  • Barcelona stay top of the group, Milan second
  • Sides meet again in Spain on matchday four

Reaction

When you face Barcelona, you need to have an eye on them the whole time. They can come from anywhere. However, we defended well and were dangerous up front. I'm satisfied with the performance.

We committed one error at the start of the match and we paid the price for that. The result doesn’t take away from the team's efforts, it still puts us in a favourable position.
