FK Partizan 4-0 Hammarby IF FF (Partizan win 5-1 on aggregate)
FK Partizan will face FC Bayern München in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League after a convincing aggregate victory over Swedish champions Hammarby.
With the German giants awaiting the winners and the two teams having played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Stockholm, neither side was willing to take any risks and a subdued first half offered few clear-cut chances. While Partizan were happy to attack down the flanks, Hammarby looked to play long balls up to striker Peter Markstedt.
Hammarby had the best chance of the half in the 31st minute when Antti Pohja blasted his 18-metre effort straight at Partizan goalkeeper Radovan Radakovic after a fine cross from Kennedy Bakircioglü.
However, the match took on a different complexion soon after the break, as Partizan's Yugoslavian international captain Vladimir Ivic made the most of an error in the Hammarby defence and drove the ball into the bottom corner of the net from 16 metres in the 49th minute.
Danko Lazovic added a second for the hosts and in turn shattered Hammarby's Champions League dreams, as he collected Zvonimr Vukic's pass and drilled the ball in from eight metres. Ivica Iliev scored the third just after the hour following neat work by Ivic, and the rout was completed 15 minutes from time when Vukic's cross was met by Lazovic. His effort came back off the bar but Sasa Ilic was on hand to direct the ball into an empty Hammarby goal.
