Olympique de Marseille moved into the UEFA Champions League group stage despite being held to a 0-0 draw at home by FK Austria Wien on Wednesday.
The former European champions were not at their best in this third qualifying round, second-leg match which their opponents dominated for the most part, but qualified by virtue of a 1-0 victory in Austria two weeks ago. They will now will join fellow French clubs Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco FC in the group stage.
Russian international Dmitri Sytchev, who scored the first-leg winner, and Ivory Coast's Tébily-Didier Drogba both missed good chances in the first half as Marseille dictated the play.
Austria were more adventurous in the second period and had the best opportunities of the game through Ivica Vastic and Norwegian Sigurd Rushfeldt, but both players were thwarted by Marseille's Croatian goalkeeper Vedran Runje.
