AC Sparta Praha's hopes of matching last season's first knockout round run suffered a blow as they lost the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie with Ferencvárosi TC in Hungary.
Ferencváros only got past KF Tirana on away goals after a 1-0 defeat here last week, but they edged tonight's game after an evenly-balanced encounter.
It was a moment of pure opportunism that broke the deadlock. Robert Vagner scoring on 26 minutes after he pounced on a defensive slip and shot past Jaromír Blazek from ten metres out. No more goals were forthcoming, and there is still plenty to play for on 25 August at Sparta's Toyota Arena.
