Cypriot champions Anorthosis Famagusta FC achieved a fine 1-1 draw in Minsk after travelling to Belarus for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League first qualifying round tie with FC Dinamo Minsk.
Froussous strike
Temur Ketsbaia's side took the lead when 31-year-old striker Nikos Frousos gave Anorthosis a potentially crucial away goal on the stroke of half-time. However, Dinamo defender Dzmitri Lentsevich registered an equaliser for the home team on 58 minutes to leave the tie finely balanced before the second leg in Cyprus next week.
Trabzonspor await
The draw gives Anorthosis every chance of achieving an aggregate win, and should they prevail over the two legs they will meet last season's Turkish Superleague runners-up Trabzonspor in the second qualifying round.
