An added-time strike from Dmitri Sychev leaves FC Lokomotiv Moskva in a far better position in their UEFA Champions League second qualifying round tie against FK Rabotnicki than looked likely in Skopje.
Lokomotiv reached the last 16 on both their previous appearances in the Champions League in 2002/03 and 2003/04, but the Macedonian tournament debutants, who eliminated FC Skonto 6-1 on aggregate in the first qualifying round, were not overawed. Indeed, just 12 minutes had gone when Ardijan Nuhiji broke the deadlock.
It seemed they would take a 1-0 lead to Moscow for next Wednesday's return, but Sychev had other ideas and the away goal will prove useful for Lokomotiv. The opposition for the winners of this tie will be decided in Friday's third qualifying round draw.
