Arsène Wenger watched his Arsenal FC team held by PFC CSKA Moskva, and claimed his dominant team could have won "7-0 or 7-1". The result leaves them level with FC Porto in second place in UEFA Champions League Group G, a point adrift of CSKA, whose coach Valeri Gazzaev admitted they "had some luck".
Arsène Wenger, Arsenal manager
In a normal game this could have been 7-0 or 7-1. I feel there are a lot of positives for the team to take from this match. We created clear cut chances and dominated Moscow by miles. There was a division between us. The group is close but we are strong enough to deal with what happened tonight. It is a worry if you don't create chances but there are so many positives to take. The crowd was great, the team was great, but the result was bad. This team has great potential it is how we mature over the next few months will determine if we win a trophy this year. The first half was the best Champions League performance since I have been here. The team is at a crucial stage, we can explode and be sensational if we deal with the situation we are in in the group and we need to keep our belief and focus on the next game.
Valeri Gazzaev, CSKA coach
We had some luck tonight. The first-half substitution [Evgeni Aldonin for Miloš Krasić] was a tactical change because we needed to play better in midfield, and I believe that we did that after the substitution. In the first half Arsenal were better but in the second things were more equal. Vágner Love didn't play in our previous game, but I was very pleased with his performance tonight, he played to his full potential. We still have to play Porto at home and we think that we will be able to get a result which will get us to the next stage.
