History
• Part of an all-sports organisation named in honour of the Yugoslavian partisans who fought against fascism in World War II; originally under the aegis of the national army, the club's first European engagement was a meeting against another army side, PFC CSKA Moskva from what was then Soviet Union, in 1945.

• All-time top scorer Stjepan Bobek was the Belgrade club's first great star, featuring in the side that won Partizan their first league and Yugoslavian Cup titles in the shape of the 1947 domestic double.

• Partizan hold a unique position in UEFA history having played in the first UEFA club competition game on 4 September 1955, drawing 3-3 with Sporting Clube de Portugal in a European Champion Clubs' Cup game in Lisbon; Miloš Milutinović and Branko Zebec were among the stars of the side that won 5-2 in the return.

• The high-water mark in Partizan's European history was reached on 11 May 1966, when they took on Real Madrid CF in the European Cup final, losing 2-1 in Brussels despite taking the lead through Velibor Vasović; that technically gifted side remains an important touchstone for the club's fans.

• Partizan players featured heavily in the national teams of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro and now Serbia, with well over 100 internationals representing the club over the years. Partizan are also the only Serbian side to have played in the UEFA Champions League group stage, competing in 2003/04 under coach Lothar Matthäus and again in 2010/11.
