Third qualifying round

All teams in the hat are allocated to either the Champions Route or the League Route, with the two sets of clubs kept apart until their potential arrival in the group stage.

15 July, Nyon

The split format introduced in 2009/10 means all teams in the hat are allocated to either the Champions Route or the League Route, with the two sets of clubs kept apart until their potential arrival in the group stage.

The Champions Route involves the winners of the 17 second qualifying round ties plus the champions from the associations ranked 14 to 16. The ten sides boasting the highest UEFA coefficient are seeded. Five are seeded in the League Route, which is made up of the third-placed side from the sixth-ranked member association, plus the runners-up from the associations ranked 7 to 15.

Balls containing the seeded clubs will be placed in one bowl, with balls of the unseeded clubs placed in another. A ball will be taken from each bowl and placed in a large empty bowl in the middle, where they will be shuffled. The first team drawn will play its first match at home, against the second team drawn.
