Mario Been, Genk coach
Before this match we would have signed a contract for one point against Chelsea. For us as Genk this is an amazing result. We had an excellent start in this match, but after going 1-0 behind we started to go backwards a bit too much. But we still kept on believing and fortunately [László] Köteles saved that penalty.
There were certain phases in this match in which we played excellently. In the second half we were operating more in Chelsea's half than they were operating in our half. And we were more patient – and the goal was just great.
Towards the end of the match we had a little angel on the crossbar to guard our goal, because we still could have lost the match then.
André Villas-Boas, Chelsea manager
First half, we were very good and we managed to get the goal we wanted. Second half, in the first 20 minutes our level of performance dropped and we lost control of the game. Then we came back and had fantastic opportunities to make it 2-1. We need to get the opportunities we are getting into the back of the net.
We will get back the momentum we had before the defeat to Queens Park Rangers [on 23 October]. At the moment it is not happening for us, it was a point away from home but it is a game we wanted to win. Not everything is negative but we wanted to win.
Two-nil up before half-time is always the ideal situation. We couldn't convert the penalty. Raul [Meireles] came close with his shot and we were close to one more goal. When we chased the game we created opportunities but not enough to score.
We defended well but with every goal you concede you can do better and we need to get back the momentum we have lost.
