FC Porto maintained their 100% start to Group A as they shaded a five-goal thriller against FC Dynamo Kyiv to move to the brink of the UEFA Champions League knockout stage.
In a game of spectacular goals, Silvestre Varela and Jackson Martinez twice gave Porto the lead, with Dynamo levelling through Oleh Gusev and Ideye Brown, before Martinez's second of the night settled matters. A point when these sides meet again in Ukraine in a fortnight will seal progress for the Portuguese title holders with two matches to spare.
The game was difficult but it was very good to start scoring in the UEFA Champions League. To do it and get a victory is very sweet.

Jackson Martinez, Porto forward
I believe it was individual mistakes that cost us. Our position in the standings is difficult but it is not over. We still have three games to try and put things right.

Olexiy Mykhaylichenko, Dynamo assistant coach

Porto win their third group game in a row to stay top of Group A with nine points. Dynamo Kyiv may be the first team to score at Estádio do Dragão but were unable to convert their goals in to points. These two sides will play eachother in the next game with Dynamo looking for revenge when Porto arrive in the Ukraine.
