Málaga CF continued their remarkable start to life in the UEFA Champions League with a 1-0 victory against seven-time European champions AC Milan.
Joaquín's penalty miss looked like it could be costly but, as on Saturday against Real Valladolid CF, the Spanish international bounced back from his spot-kick setback with a second-half winner. Manuel Pellegrini's team have now won all three of their Group C games without conceding a goal and are five points clear at the summit.
We are fairy-tale winners. We deserved the victory. It is the first time something like this has happened at Málaga. We know we are making history.

Joaquín, Málaga winger
I trust my players and in the UEFA Champions League we are still in good position to qualify. We have not been lucky recently.

Massimiliano Allegri, Milan coach
