Match facts: Valencia v BATE

Valencia

UEFA Champions League statistics
• Roberto Soldado's treble on matchday three made him only the 13th player to score more than one UEFA Champions League hat-trick, and the first Spaniard.

• Soldado will incur a suspension with his next booking.

Miscellaneous
• Valencia beat Club Atlético de Madrid 2-0 on Saturday, ending the visitors' 13-match winning run in all competitions. The capital outfit had been unbeaten in 23 games stretching back to April.

• On Sunday Adil Rami underwent an intensive session of physiotherapy to correct the back problem he suffered against Atlético.

• Despite Saturday's win, Valencia are enduring their worst start to a Liga campaign since 1999/2000 – when they reached the UEFA Champions League final before losing to Real Madrid CF.

• Valencia won 2-0 at third-tier UE Llagostera in the first leg of their Copa del Rey round of 32 tie on 30 October.

• Éver Banega was a late substitute on 20 October in the 3-2 win against Athletic Club, his first appearance since breaking his leg after leaving the handbrake off his car at a petrol station on 19 February.

• Sofiane Feghouli was in the Algeria side that beat Libya 2-0 on 14 October to seal a 3-0 aggregate triumph and book a place in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

• Pablo Piatti has not featured since fracturing his right arm in training on 7 September.

• Sergio Canales has not been included in Valencia's UEFA Champions League squad as he recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament problem sustained last season.

BATE

UEFA Champions League statistics
• BATE won their first two Group F fixtures, having failed to triumph in any of their previous 12.

• Aleksandr Hleb has made 85 appearances in UEFA club competition, a Belarusian record. BATE captain Dmitri Likhtarovich is one behind. Vitali Rodionov is Belarus' top scorer in UEFA club competition with 17 goals.

• Andrei Gorbunov, Maksim Bordachev and Marko Simić have played all 810 minutes of BATE's UEFA Champions League campaign.

• BATE won two corners in their first three games; by a distance fewer than any other team in the group stage.

• Aleksandr Pavlov serves a one-match ban after accruing three group stage yellow cards.

Miscellaneous
• BATE lost 1-0 to bottom side FC Naftan Novopolotsk on Saturday, ending their 17-game unbeaten run away from home in all competitions. Since starting the season in March with back-to-back defeats, including a 2-0 loss to FC Gomel in the Belarusian Super Cup, BATE had won 13 and drawn four on their travels.

• BATE's 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions, since 1 July, ended on 13 October when they lost 1-0 at home to FC Torpedo Zhodino in the third round of the Belarusian Cup.

• BATE provided seven of Belarus' starting XI for their 2-0 FIFA World Cup qualifying win against Georgia on 16 October: Renan Bressan, Bordachev, Yegor Filipenko, Hleb, Rodionov, Pavlov and Denis Polyakov. An eighth BATE player, Aleksandr Volodko, replaced goalscorer Bressan with five minutes left.
