A banner will be displayed on the pitch at all UEFA Champions League matches this week as a tribute to Nelson Mandela. It reads: Madiba, the world will never forget.

Barcelona

UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• Barcelona's next draw will be their 100th in UEFA competition. They have conceded 247 goals in the European Cup.

• Alexis Sánchez is available after serving a one-match ban but Cesc Fábregas is suspended.

• Pedro Rodríguez's next appearance in the UEFA Champions League will be his 50th (group stage to final).

General information
• Striker Jean Marie Dongou, 18, marked his first-team debut with a goal on Friday as Barcelona came from 1-0 down to win 4-1 away to third division FC Cartagena in the first leg of their Copa del Rey fourth round tie.

• Jordi Alba started at Cartagena on his return from a torn right hamstring suffered on 14 September.

• Barcelona's 20-game unbeaten start to the season under coach Gerardo Martino ended against AFC Ajax on matchday five and they lost again five days later, going down 1-0 at Athletic Club.

• Barcelona have kept 11 clean sheets in 23 games this term.

• Alexis has scored 11 goals in his last 13 outings for club and country.

• Lionel Messi (hamstring, 10 November) and Víctor Valdés (calf, 19 November) are both sidelined. Daniel Alves has not played since returning from international duty with a calf problem.

• Jonathan Dos Santos could be out until April after suffering knee ligament damage in training on 23 October. Isaac Cuenca has not played since having knee surgery this summer, while Ibrahim Afellay had an operation in August to correct a thigh complaint.

• Barcelona's eight-match winning start to the Liga ended on 19 October when they drew 0-0 at CA Osasuna. They were one shy of Real Madrid's league best of nine victories at the start of a campaign achieved in 1968/69.

• Barcelona have won 22 successive home league games.

• Messi was named best player and forward for 2012/13 in the Liga de Fútbol Profesional's annual awards last week. He was also awarded (in absentia) the Pichichi Trophy as the Liga's 46-goal top scorer. Andrés Iniesta was named best attacking midfielder.

Celtic

UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• Celtic's next draw will be their 50th in UEFA competition.

• Scott Brown (sent off on matchday two) and Nir Biton (matchday three) are available after suspensions but Emilio Izaguirre serves a one-game ban. Giorgios Samaras and Virgil van Dijk are both a booking away from a ban.

• Celtic did not have a single player sent off in their first 50 UEFA Champions League matches – they then had two red cards in as many games.

General information
• Celtic are 17 games unbeaten in the league – their longest run since 2003/04 when they went 32 matches without defeat, including a sequence of 25 successive wins.

• Celtic have scored 12 unanswered goals in their last two games, both away from home.

• Bahrudin Atajić rounded off the scoring in Friday's 5-0 win at Motherwell FC, the 20-year-old's first goal for Celtic. Midfielder Mark Henderson made his competitive debut as a second-half substitute.

• Kris Commons has scored seven goals in Celtic's last four games.

• James Forrest has been struggling with a hamstring strain, while Samaras and Biton missed the Motherwell game with a virus. Beram Kayal broke a bone in his foot on matchday five and has been ruled out until the new year. Adam Matthews (broken collarbone) and Steven Mouyokolo (Achilles) are also sidelined.

• Neil Lennon marked his 200th game in charge of Celtic with the club's biggest ever win against Heart of Midlothian FC on 1 December, the Hoops starting the defence of their Scottish Cup with a 7-0 away victory. Commons scored a hat-trick in what Lennon described as "the best performance in my time as manager."

• Iceland U21 striker Hólmbert Fridjónsson, 20, will join Celtic from Fram Reykjavík on a four-year deal in January.
