UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• Bayern became the first team to win ten successive UEFA Champions League games on matchday five, surpassing the previous record of nine straight wins set by FC Barcelona between 18 September 2002 and 18 February 2003.

• Bayern are bidding to become only the sixth club to win six games in a group stage after AC Milan (1992/93), Paris Saint-Germain (1994/95), FC Spartak Moskva (1995/96), Barcelona (2002/03) and Real Madrid CF (2011/12).

• Bayern have conceded twice in Group D, and have the best defensive record in the competition.

General information
• Bayern won 7-0 at SV Werder Bremen on Saturday to stretch their unbeaten run away from home in the Bundesliga to 26 games (W22 D4), matching their German top-flight record set between December 1985 and August 1987.

• Josep Guardiola's team have a record 41 points from the opening 15 rounds of the German top flight. The Spaniard is the first coach in Bundesliga history to avoid defeat in their first 15 games.

• Bayern are unbeaten in a club best 40 top-flight outings, surpassing Hamburger SV's Bundesliga record of 36 set between 1982 and 1983. Bayern have won all 16 of their Bundesliga home games in 2013.

• Bayern have collected 90 points in 32 Bundesliga encounters in 2013, breaking their own league record for a calendar year set in 2005.

• Xherdan Shaqiri (out since 11 October, hamstring) and Claudio Pizarro (24 October, thigh) were substitutes on Saturday, Pizarro coming on in the closing stages. Philipp Lahm missed out with a thigh problem.

• Franck Ribéry returned to action after a fractured rib in the 2-0 German Cup third round victory at FC Augsburg on 4 December. Arjen Robben scored against Augsburg but then sustained a knee injury which rules him out until 2014.

• Bastian Schweinsteiger had ankle surgery on 13 November and is out until the new year.

• On 2 December David Alaba signed a contract extension until summer 2018.

• Ribéry has not been on the losing side in the Bundesliga in a record 42 games, since 11 April 2012. He missed Bayern's only defeat in the Bundesliga last season, a 2-1 loss against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 28 October 2012.

• Bayern have registered in each of their last 41 matches in all competitions. They have scored in their last 52 league games, a Bundesliga record.

• FCB won 46 of their 54 fixtures in all competitions last season; they have won 21 out of 25 this.

UEFA milestones and competition statistics
• City have reached the UEFA Champions League round of 16 for the first time.

• On matchday four Álvaro Negredo became the first City player to score a UEFA Champions League hat-trick.

• Sergio Agüero is City's 12-goal highest scorer in European competition. He has scored eight in his last eight UEFA Champions League outings.

• City have registered 148 goals in UEFA competition.

• Yaya Touré is suspended after picking up three bookings; James Milner is a yellow card away from a ban.

General information
• Agüero took his tally to 19 goals in 18 appearances for club and country with the opening strike in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Southampton FC.

• Matija Nastasić, David Silva and Stevan Jovetić are all sidelined with calf injuries.

• Manuel Pellegrini's side have won just two out of eight away from home in the league this season, losing four.

• Vincent Kompany, out since 5 October with a thigh injury, returned to action in a 3-2 victory at West Bromwich Albion FC on 4 December.

• Pellegrini's team have scored 29 league goals in seven home games this term, more than any other side in the English top flight; they have managed 12 in eight away.

• City beat Norwich City FC 7-0 on 2 November, scoring seven in a top-flight match for the first time since December 1968 and a 7-0 win against Burnley FC. Costel Pantilimon made his Premier League debut in place of Joe Hart.
