Minute By Minute

  • End Time
    The referee blows for half-time.
Arsène Wenger will undoubtedly be the happier of the two managers at half-time with the hosts twice going close through Demba Ba - right at the beginning and end of the 45 minutes. Alexis Sánchez looked Arsenal's most threatening player as he created their best chance for Olivier Giroud, who could not quite get his effort away with the required power.
  • End Time
    The final whistle is blown.
Slaven Bilić was ordered to the stands right at the end of the match and will have mixed emotions at his team's performance. Arsenal fail to leave Istanbul with an away goal but Beşiktaş had two fantastic chances through Demba Ba, right at the beginning and end of the first half, which could have further enhanced their second-leg chances.
