Reporter's view: With Porto experiencing a rollercoaster Group G campaign and Liverpool finishing their section on a free-scoring high, the meeting of these two multiple European Cup winners promises something spectacular. Sérgio Conceição's side will look to provide the spark that sets the Estádio do Dragão rocking, but the visitors bring their own brand of heavy metal football.

Sérgio Conceição, Porto coach

We know we're up against a great team but I see week in week out that Porto are also at a top level. Two teams steeped in history, both confident that they can get through. Liverpool have the second-best attack in the Premier League, they are also consistent. But of course they have weaknesses, like all teams, and we will try to exploit them. We have a strategy, and we will try to stay true to our identity.

Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool manager

I respect Porto a lot. They are a mixture of football and fight, experience and youth, well organised and fluent. I like it. But to be honest, they've not played 20 times against a team like us. We are not too bad and we know that as well. We want to show it and use it, and we will see on Wednesday night and in three weeks. I know it's a close race, no problem with that.
