'Positive response'
"We have received a very positive response from [national coach] Morten Olsen as well as from the players to Keld Bordinggaard's efforts as our assistant coach," said DBU general secretary Jim Stjerne Hansen. "We consider him a great coaching talent."
Offers rejected
The 41-year-old Bordinggaard, who signed the new deal shortly before Christmas, had received offers to coach several league clubs. "I was tempted to take a job as head coach in a league club," he admitted. He joined the DBU as Olsen's assistant after the 2002 FIFA World Cup, having made his name as a player with Vejle BK, Odense BK and Silkeborg IF and also coaching Vejle.
