Twelve-month Titov ban stands

Russia's Yegor Titov remains banned for a year after his appeal against UEFA's verdict was withdrawn.

Testing positive
Titov was suspended by European football's governing body last month after testing positive for the banned substance bromantan, which means he will miss UEFA EURO 2004™. The 27-year-old was tested after the EURO 2004™ qualifying play-off first leg against Wales in Moscow on 15 November.

Player and club fined
In addition to the suspension, effective from 21 January, Titov was fined €6,400 while his club, Spartak, received a €12,800 fine. The fines also remain effective. As is usual in doping cases, UEFA will now request that FIFA extend the decision on a worldwide basis.
