After a weekend lending his expertise to UEFA EURO 2012 volunteer recruitment interviews in eastern Ukraine, television host Igor Kondratyuk has become the latest Friend of EURO.

A member of the Ukrainian X Factor jury, Kondratyuk knew just what he was doing as he joined former PFC CSKA Moskva and FC Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Igor Kutepov and ex-FC Shakhtar Donetsk forward Victor Grachov in putting volunteer applicants through their paces for the first time in Kharkiv and Donetsk.

Kondratyuk later expressed delight at becoming the 41st Friend of EURO and looked foward to being involved as next summer's final tournament draws ever closer. "No41 is very symbolic as it is about 41 years to the day since I became a football fan," said Kondratyuk. "I am very happy to become a Friend of EURO 2012 in Donetsk because this is the venue where the country's strongest side [Shakhtar] play their home matches, the Donbass Arena."

Volunteer interviews will continue in the host cities throughout September with volunteer programme ambassador and Friend of EURO, boxer Vitaliy Klitschko, set to participate in Kyiv.
