Bulgaria set stadium deadline

Bulgaria's national stadium should be renovated in time for the start of their EURO 2004™ campaign.

The Bulgarian government have vowed that the country's national stadium will be ready for their EURO 2004™ qualification campaign.

Major overhaul
The Vassil Levski stadium is due to undergo a major overhaul from 1 April which will see 50,000 seats being installed as Bulgaria aim to bring their facilities up to the highest European standards.

Ready for Croatia
The president of the Bulgarian commission for youth and sports, Vassil Ivanov, has said that he expects the work on the stadium to be completed by the time that Bulgaria play their first EURO 2004™ qualifying home game against Croatia on 12 October.

Ivanov confident
"The reconstruction work on the stadium is continuing and I would very much like to see the Vassil Levski stadium open its doors for the first qualification match for the European championship," said Ivanov.
