Baroš bounces back

Reversal of fortunes
Baroš' double strike in tonight's 3-0 quarter-final defeat of Denmark made him the tournament's leading scorer with five goals. However, the 22-year-old admitted that his success in Portugal was in stark contrast to a Premiership season in which he was sidelined for over five months with a broken ankle.

'Difficult period'
"It was a difficult period for me when I got injured, but I knew I would be ready for the EURO and I did everything to be here. I am just happy that we are being successful," Baroš said after collecting his Carlsberg Man of the Match award.

Unbelievable success
Baroš scored twice in three second-half minutes in Porto to set up a semi-final against surprise package Greece on Thursday. "If someone had told me before the tournament that I would have scored five goals after the quarter-final, I wouldn't have believed him," he said. "But the most important thing is that we are in the semi-finals and have a game against Greece to think about.

Praise for Greece
"We have to go game by game and, in the end, see what happens," added the striker. "Greece beat France 1-0 and they have a good team, a good defensive side. It is going to be a difficult game for us but hopefully we'll be ready for that."

Club v country
While Baroš has registered eleven goals in his last ten matches for the Czech Republic, he has managed only two in 24 for his club Liverpool. However, he vowed to replicate his international form in the Premiership next season if given the chance at Anfield. "If I am playing at Liverpool next season, it is possible [that I will play this well]. I am sure I can play this well for Liverpool."
