The teams in Pot 5 will be hoping for a favourable outcome to Sunday's UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying draw, with all nine wishing to make a first finals appearance in France.

Northern Ireland came closest to appearing on the big stage, beating West Germany home and away in qualifying for the 1984 UEFA European Championship, only to miss out on goal difference. Meanwhile, Iceland will be hopeful of progressing to their first finals – whichever opposition they get – after almost reaching the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Wins against Norway and Slovenia (both Pot 3) in qualifying helped them to a play-off spot, but they lost out to Croatia (Pot 2).

Albania, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Lithuania and Moldova are the other Pot 5 countries.
