The President of France, François Hollande, was at the Stade Bauer in Saint-Ouen to launch the 'citizenship' initiative, the second part of the 11 Tricolore programme ahead of UEFA EURO 2016.

Guests at the launch included the president of the National Assembly, Claude Bartolone, the work, cities, youth and sports minister Patrick Kanner, secretary of state for sports Thierry Braillard, and the president of the Association of France's Mayors, François Baroin.

"I want to make 2016 the year of the Marseillaise," said President Hollande. "I wish EURO 2016 a popular festival, a football, fraternity and citizenship party," he added in front of Pauline Gamerre, chief director of Red Star FC and ambassador of this initiative.

Steve Marlet, UEFA EURO 2016 ambassador for the city of Saint-Denis, expressed his pride to have worn the French national jersey 23 times. "Respect yourselves and others. Always remember that you belong to a team," concluded the French president before taking a few photos with the many young players from Red Star who had gathered for the event.
