The Czech Republic warmed up for the EURO 2004™ qualifiers with a resounding 5-0 friendly win against Yugoslavia.
Delayed start
Tomáš Ujfaluši and Milan Baroš scored two goals apiece in a match that kicked off 30 minutes late after both teams took the field in white strips. Once the game started, the Czechs were quick out of the blocks, opening the scoring after just 72 seconds through Vladimir Šmicer, finishing with a first-time shot after Jan Koller's smart pass.
Substitute scores
The Czechs made it two on 21 minutes through Ujfaluši who scored following a Tomáš Rosický corner. Captain Pavel Nedved, suspended for next month's qualifier in Moldova, then came on as a substitute for the injured Šmicer but it was Baroš, another substitute, who hit the third six minutes after the interval from a Rosický free-kick.
Second impressive victory
Ujfalusi headed the fourth goal on 56 minutes and Baroš, with a solo effort ten minutes from time, sealed the second impressive victory on the run for a Czech side that beat Slovakia 4-1 last month.
