Belkevitch absent for Belarus

Belarus are missing key players for Saturday's match with Austria but do welcome back Andrei Lavrik.

Belarus will be missing two key figures as they take on Austria in Minsk on Saturday in their EURO 2004™ Group 3 qualifying match.

Belkevitch injury
Valentin Belkevitch, the FC Dynamo Kyiv playmaker, will be missing from the squad because of ligament damage, while the Turkey-based Maxim Romashenko, will miss the game after being sent off in the team's 3-0 defeat by the Netherlands in their opening qualifier last month. However, Romashenko will be available for selection against the Czech Republic in Teplice on the following Wednesday.

Lavrik returns
Meanwhile, coach Eduard Malafeev has brought Andrei Lavrik back into the squad. The FC Dinamo St. Petersburg defender returns after a disagreement with the coach which seemed to have ended his international career a year ago.

Other absentees
In addition to Belkevitch, Denis Kovba of FC Krylya Sovetov Samara and Artem Chelyadinski of FC Sokol Saratov are also absent through injury.
