Romania and Greece reign in Cyprus

Romania and Greece secured their second victories in the Cyprus Football Association tournament, beating Slovenia and Kazakhstan respectively.

Slovenia 0-2 Romania
Victory was no less than Romania deserved after dominating for large spells and, as yesterday, only being prevented from a more comfortable margin of victory by some inspired goalkeeping, in this instance from Samir Handanovič. Ionut Mazilu gave Romania the lead on 23 minutes with his first international goal, meeting Razvan Rat's measured cross with a spectacular finish from seven metres out. After sustained pressure thereafter it took an own goal for Handanovič to concede a second time, Andrej Pecnik inadvertently finding the net eight minutes after the restart.

Cyprus 2-0 Armenia
Hosts Cyprus ended their tournament on a high defeating Armenia 2-0 at the Tsirium Athletic Centre in Limassol. Having lost the first game 1-0 against Slovenia, Angelos Anastasiadis's team secured third place in their group with a positive display against Armenia. Cyprus enjoyed most of the possession in an encounter which was brought to life when Olympiacos CFP striker Ioannis Okkas gave his side the lead with a delightful lob. APOEL FC midfielder Chrysostomos Michael put the match beyond doubt midway through the second half to the delight of the home supporters.

Kazakhstan 0-2 Greece

Finland 2-2 Belarus (Finland win 5-4 on penalties)
