Hiotis receives Rehhagel call

Otto Rehhagel has called AEK Athens FC's Dionyssis Hiotis into the Greece squad for the first time.

AEK Athens FC goalkeeper Dionyssis Hiotis has been called into the Greek national squad for the first time for next Wednesday's friendly against the Republic of Ireland.

Impressive performances
Hitois, 26, impressed with his performances against Real Madrid CF and AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League, as AEK narrowly missed out on reaching the second group stage.

Three newcomers
He is one of three new players in Otto Rehhagel's party for the game at the Apostolos Nikolaidis stadium in Athens as the coach added 15 Greek-based players to the six overseas squad members named last week.

Dellas withdraws
Yiannis Amanatidis of 1. Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart and English first division club Burnley FC's Dimitris Papadopoulos were the other two newcomers to the full squad, having been promoted from the Under-21s, while AS Roma defender Traianos Dellas has withdrawn through injury.

Mixed start
