Liechtenstein coach joins Young Boys

Martin Andermatt has ended his reign as Liechtenstein's head coach in order to accept a new challenge with Swiss Super League outfit BSC Young Boys.

Martin Andermatt has quit as coach of Liechtenstein to take charge of Swiss Super League club BSC Young Boys.

EURO farewell
The 44-year-old oversaw the final match of his Liechtenstein reign with last night's 4-0 UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying defeat by Denmark, having coached the national team since February 2004. It was a job he combined with the stewardship of the Liechtenstein-based Swiss second division side FC Vaduz, but he now abandons both helms to coach Young Boys.

Swiss credentials
The former Swiss international, who was a Swiss title winner with Grasshopper-Club, has named Erminio Pisercha as his assistant and will begin his tenure with Sunday's Berne derby against FC Thun. Andermatt started coaching in 1995 with FC Emmenbrücke, before spells in Germany with SSV Ulm 1846 and Eintracht Frankfurt and in Switzerland with FC Wil 1900.
