Swiss line up Germany test

Switzerland have lined up a testing start to 2007 with the UEFA EURO 2008™ co-hosts arranging a friendly away to Germany in Dusseldorf on 7 February.

Jakob Kuhn's side will take on the three-times European champions after another high-profile encounter, against Brazil on 15 November in Basel. The meeting with Germany will provide the Swiss with a chance to improve on a poor record in the fixture, having won just eight times in 48 games. Germany have 34 victories with six matches ending in a draw.

Austria defeat
Switzerland's last outing was a 2-1 defeat by their co-hosts of the 2008 European finals, Austria, on 11 October. That result was their first loss since the FIFA World Cup when they reached the Round of 16 and were eliminated on penalties by Ukraine.
