Grant names his men

Israel coach Avraham Grant has confirmed his 22-man squad for their friendly with Armenia.

Israeli league leaders Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC and champions Maccabi Haifa FC supply 14 of national team coach Avraham Grant's 22-man squad for Wednesday's friendly with Armenia.

Luz wins call-up
Diminutive Hapoel Tel-Aviv forward Ben Luz has been given his first call-up to the senior squad, one of six players from that club in the party, also including Shimon Gershon, recalled to the squad after recovering from his groin injury.

Trio injured
Meanwhile, Maccabi Haifa have a strong representation of eight, despite injuries three players in Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Maccabi Netanya. Goalkeeper Liran Strauber and central defender Gadi Brumer both suffered concussion after a mid-air collision in the second half, Tal Banin having already picked up a rib injury in the first period.

Berkovic left out
Manchester City FC's Eyal Berkovic, who returned from his stomach injury to play 85 minutes and claim the 'man of the match' award in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United FC on Sunday, has been left out to allow him to recover full fitness. However, Haim Revivo whose league debut for Galatasaray SK has been postponed twice due to bad weather was recalled, as was fellow forward, Real Racing Club Santander's Yossi Benayoun.
