Carew suffers injury blow

Norway striker John Carew is out for the next four to six weeks after suffering a knee ligament injury during Aston Villa FC's win against Everton FC on Sunday.

Norway striker John Carew is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks after suffering a knee ligament injury during Aston Villa FC's 2-0 win against Everton FC on Sunday.

Twisted knee
Carew was substituted after twisting his knee early in the second half at Villa Park and will now miss Norway's UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier in Bosnia-Herzegovina on 17 October. "At this minute, he has definitely got a ligament problem and we're looking at maybe four to six weeks," Villa manager Martin O'Neill said.

Good form
Carew, 28, got his first Premier League goal this season in the victory against Everton and has been in good form for Norway, scoring twice in their recent win against Argentina as well as in the 2-2 Group C draw with Greece last month. Norway are second in the section, two points behind the European champions though they have played a game more.
