Held has recalled 1. FC Kaiserslautern striker Michael Mifsud after he was dropped for last month's friendly international against Kazakhstan for disciplinary reasons. However, the coach must do without PFC Lokomotiv Sofia midfield player Stefan Giglio and Valletta FC's Daniel Theuma due to injury.

Malta travel to Lens on 29 March with a record of four defeats from four Group 1 games, having lost to Slovenia, Israel, France and Cyprus.
