Mifsud returns for Malta

Malta coach Sigi Held has named his squad for the UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier against France.

Total recall 
Held has recalled 1. FC Kaiserslautern striker Michael Mifsud after he was dropped for last month's friendly international against Kazakhstan for disciplinary reasons. However, the coach must do without PFC Lokomotiv Sofia midfield player Stefan Giglio and Valletta FC's Daniel Theuma due to injury.

Meanwhile, Airdrie United FC defender Simon Vella keeps his place after impressing in the 2-2 draw with Kazakhstan. Malta travel to Lens on 29 March with a record of four defeats from four Group 1 games, having lost to Slovenia, Israel, France and Cyprus. Captain David Carabott is expected to make a record 114th international appearance in the match at the Félix-Bollaert stadium.
