Striker Roman Pavlyuchenko will miss Russia's qualifier against Andorra and FC Spartak Moskva's remaining UEFA Cup group stage games with an ankle injury.

Unknown absence
Pavlyuchenko was substituted after 52 minutes of Russia's 2-1 UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying defeat against Israel at the Ramat Gan Stadium after a collision with Chelsea FC defender Tal Ben Haim. After the match, doctors confirmed that the forward had torn ligaments in his ankle. No estimate has been made as to when he might return to action but he is sure to miss the Andorra match, with Russia needing a win and an England defeat at home against Croatia to qualify. He is likely to be sidelined for Spartak's UEFA Cup encounters with AC Sparta Praha, FC Zürich and Toulouse FC. Spartak won their opening Group E tie 2-1 against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
