Pimenov blow for club and country

Russia and FC Lokomotiv Moskva forward Ruslan Pimenov will be out of action for two months.

Surprise setback
The FC Lokomotiv Moskva striker sustained the injury last Wednesday in preparation for last Saturday's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifier with Albania, which Russia unexpectedly lost 3-1.

'Quite serious'
"The injury is quite serious; he damaged his meniscus as well as the interior ligaments," said Lokomotiv team doctor Savely Myshalov. "He is going to have surgery, so he won't come back until late May at the earliest."

Key games
Pimenov, who has won four caps, will definitely miss Russia's visit to Georgia on 30 April, and must be considered doubtful for the visit to Group 10 leaders Switzerland on 7 June. Russia currently lie second in the section, with six points from three games, a single point behind Switzerland.
