Germany keen to learn from friendlies

Germany will tackle Belarus and Serbia in friendly internationals next May to prepare for Group B games against Poland and Croatia at UEFA EURO 2008™.

Germany will tackle Belarus and Serbia in friendly internationals next May in preparation for matches against two of their opponents in UEFA EURO 2008™ Group B.

Four games agreed
"We chose those two teams because, given the information we have, they are similar to our group opponents Poland and Croatia both in mentality and the way they play," said coach Joachim Löw. Belarus are up first in Kaiserslautern on 27 May, four days before the Serbia test in Gelsenkirchen. Germany had already agreed to meet Austria (who they also face in the finals) in Vienna on 6 February and their tournament co-hosts Switzerland on 26 March. The latter venue is yet to be confirmed.
