Trezeguet in then out

Daniel Moreira has replaced David Trezeguet in the France squad to face Slovenia and Malta.

David Trezeguet has pulled out of the France squad for the EURO 2004™ qualifiers against Slovenia and Malta - just hours after earning a recall.

Player of the season
The Juventus FC striker, who on Monday night was honoured as the Italian players' player of last season, was named as coach Jacques Santini's replacement for the injured Olivier Kapo of AJ Auxerre. However, the 24-year-old is still suffering from inflammation of the knee which has sidelined him for much of this season.

Replaced by Moreira
Trezeguet scored 24 times for Juventus last term as the Bianconeri won the Italian title on the last day. He is replaced in the squad by RC Lens striker Daniel Moreira, the 25-year-old earning his first call-up after scoring twice in three UEFA Champions League matches for Lens.

Double date for France
Arsenal FC's Thierry Henry and Sylvain Wiltord are expected to start Saturday's Group 1 tie against Slovenia in Paris, four days before France play Malta in Valletta.
