Four players have been called into the national team set-up for the first time while Chelsea FC striker Mikael Forssell has been left behind. The newcomers are Myllykosken Pallo-47's Antti Okkonen and Miikka Multaharju and Juuso Kangaskorpi of FC Haka and Fredrik Nordback of Swedish side Örebro SK.

Still recovering
Muurinen said that he wanted Forssell to continue his recovery from injury with his English club. "He's better to stay where he is because he has just returned to training and should play in the reserves soon," he said. Finland meet Barbados on 26 January and Trinidad and Tobago three days later before meeting a Trinidad and Tobago Select XI on 2 February.
