Injury worries for Israel

Israel coach Avraham Grant has named a 21-man squad, but has a number of injury problems.

Israel coach Avraham Grant has named a 21-man squad to face Cyprus and France in next week's UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifying games, but has injury worries surrounding a number of players.

Keeper doubt
Goalkeepers Dudu Awat of Maccabi Haifa FC and Hapoel Tel-Aviv's Shavit Elimelech are both included in the squad. Emilech, however, sustained an injury during Saturday’s Israeli Cup victory against FC Ashdod and Grant has put Maccabi Tel-Aviv's Liran Strauber on stand-by.

Nimni in
Maccabi Tel-Aviv striker Amir Turgeman has also been drafted in, and midfield player Avi Nimni has been selected despite only recently recovering from injury.
