Hapoel Kfar-Saba's Yaniv Abargil has been given his first Israeli international call-up by national coach Avraham Grant, in his squad for Wednesday's friendly against Moldova at the National Stadium in Tel-Aviv.

Leading scorer
Abargi, who is the Israeli league's leading scorer this season with 13 goals, is in a squad of 24 also including Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC duo Liran Strauber and Tal Banin, who both missed last month's 2-0 victory against Armenia.

Monday fixture
Maccabi Haifa FC's players will miss the first training session due to their Monday night league fixture against Hapoel Beer-Sheva, other than the suspended Arik Benado.

Cyprus trip
Israel have been banned from playing competitive matches at home by UEFA, but friendly fixtures come under the jurisdiction of FIFA. Their next UEFA EURO 2004™ fixture is in Cyprus on 29 March.
