Myhre out, Holtan in

Thomas Myhre has been ruled out of Norway's EURO 2004™ qualifier against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Thomas Myhre has been ruled out of Norway's Group 2 EURO 2004™ qualifier against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday.

Thigh injury
The Sunderland AFC goalkeeper, who turns 29 tomorrow, has failed to shake off the thigh injury which he suffered in Romania on Saturday. Team doctor Lars Engebretsen revealed that he was unable to complete today's training session ahead of the game.

'No sense' testing leg
"Thomas was able to stand on the leg and had a really good work-out, but he's still not able to run at full speed," said Engebretsen. "Therefore there was no sense in testing the leg on the field." Odds BK goalkeeper Erik Holtan has been called into the squad as Myhre's replacement but Viking FK's Frode Olsen will most likely be handed the No1 shirt.

Belarus worries
Ahead of the Group 3 game between Czech Republic and Belarus, BV Borussia Dortmund's Czech star Tomáš Rosický missed training with a minor knee injury but is expected to be fit enough to start. However, Belarus coach Eduard Malofeev will be without four key players - Alexander Lukhvich and Andrey Ostrovsky are suspended, while Vitaly Volodenkov is suffering from a virus and the influential Valentyn Belkevich is still injured.

Melville a doubt
Elsewhere, defender Andy Melville is doubtful for Wales' Group 9 qualifier against Italy in Cardiff after ricking his neck in training and Lithuania's captain Raimondas Zutautas will miss his side's qualifier against Iceland due to a thigh strain.

Friendly injuries
Sweden have lost forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic for their friendly against tournament hosts Portugal. The AFC Ajax frontman suffered mild concussion during Saturday's 1-1 qualifying draw against Hungary. Luis Figo is a doubt for Portugal after injuring his left thigh in a friendly against Tunisia.

Karagounis missing
Defender Christos Patsatzoglou has recovered from illness and will return to the Greece side for their qualifier against Armenia in Athens. However, Greece, who are bottom of Group Six after two 2-0 defeats against Spain and Ukraine, will be without the suspended midfield player Giorgos Karagounis.
