Greece miss Antzas and Karagounis

Paraskevas Antzas and Giorgos Karagounis are among the absentees from Greece's squad to face Bulgaria.

Greece coach Otto Rehhagel has named a 19-man squad for next week's friendly against fellow UEFA EURO 2004™ qualifiers Bulgaria in Athens.

Antzas misses out
One player who does not appear in the squad is central defender Paraskevas Antzas who moved from Olympiacos CFP to third division Doxa Dramas in January. Antzas's decision to drop two divisions - a decision prompted by "personal problems" - could well end his chances of playing at EURO 2004™.

Karagounis suspension
FC Internazionale midfield player Giorgos Karagounis is also missing as he serves a suspension following his sending-off in a friendly against Portugal in November. Club Atlético de Madrid's Demis Nikolaidis has been excused, meanwhile, so he can spend some time with his wife and new-born daughter in Madrid.

Injured pair
Injured Olympiakos goalkeeper Theofanis Katergiannakis and defender Stelios Venetidis have been replaced by Kostas Halkias and Giannis Goumas respectively, both of Panathinaikos FC.

Greece squad
Nikopolidis, Halkias, Seitaridis, Kapsis, Dellas, Dabizas, Fyssas, Goumas, Bassinas, Katsouranis, Giannakopoulos, Kafes, Zagorakis, Georgiadis, Tsiartas, Lakis, Vryzas, Papadopoulos, Haristeas.
