Les Bleus set for Sochaux bow

France will play their UEFA EURO 2008™ Group B tie against the Faroe Islands in Sochaux, the 11 October fixture being their first visit to the Stade Bonal.

The French Football Federation has announced that France will play their UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifier against the Faroe Islands on 11 October in Sochaux, the first appearance by Les Bleus at the Stade Bonal.

Sochaux debut
The Group B fixture will mark the national team's first visit to the town in eastern France in 102 years. It will also be the 2000 European champions' fourth match in their bid to reach the finals in Austria and Switzerland - after opening their campaign away to Georgia on 2 September, Raymond Domenech's men take on Italy at the Stade de France four days later in a FIFA World Cup final replay before travelling to Scotland on 7 October. The venues for France's remaining home games - against Georgia, Scotland and Lithuania, and all scheduled for next year - will be confirmed in September.
