There were three surprise selections in Jógvan Martin Olsen's Faroe Islands squad for the visit of Ukraine and trip to Georgia in UEFA EURO 2008™ qualifying.

Absence ended
The inclusion of Tem Hansen, who has spent all his life in Denmark but has a Faroese grandmother, was the biggest of those, although the return of striker Christian Lamhauge Holst after a two-year hiatus and midfielder Sámal Joensen after five years out have also caused a stir. For supporters, the best news was probably that Aalborg BK duo Jón Rói Jacobsen and Súni Olsen have been declared fit for the games on 24 and 28 March.
